Frequently Asked Questions

Do customers have access to administration tools of the solution?

Customers will have the right to use a standard, read-only access provided to enable them to access reporting and executive dashboard of the solution. However, to ensure the fidelity of the firewall access control lists/rules and appropriate audit trails, the customer is required to complete administrator training on the solution and acknowledge that the respective customer has the ability to impact the security of the organization by making changes without the advice of the Service Provider.

What are the support and management services that are included with the solution?

The solution and provisioned hardware are fully supported by the Service Provider, including warranty and technical support services. In the event of a hardware failure, device replacement and reconfiguration will begin within 1 business day. This is a 100% fully managed solution – all activities relating to monitoring the backup jobs, working with the customer to remediate and restore backup services, change to existing backup jobs, the adding or removal of backup jobs, all restorations are in scope of the services.

Does the solution support archiving?

Yes. The solution supports the archiving of data to the cloud storage. This is known as “vaulting.” Your customer has enhanced flexibility to create archiving rules that apply to 12 monthly and seven annual historical backup revisions. This enables organizations to meet compliance objectives by retaining data for longer periods of time while freeing up disk space to protect operational data.

Does the solution support multiple retention policies depending on customer requirements per data source?

Yes. Customized retention policies can be defined for each backup job.

Is there bandwidth management (throttling available) to the cloud with the solution?

Yes. To ensure minimal disruption to the customer’s Internet bandwidth, the solution can be programmed to throttle replication services to the cloud.

Can backups be replicated to a secondary device/location?

The solution supports multiple replication targets such as Cloud and/or another backup appliance.

Does the solution support full physical server backups for bare metal recoveries?

Yes. The solution supports bare metal restores for servers that are running Windows Server 2012 or higher operating systems.
