Jolera Recognizes Cybersecurity Talent in the Azores

Jolera has once again reinforced its commitment to the Azores by awarding a merit prize to Diogo Pacheco, a student of the Cybersecurity Specialist Technician program at ENTA – Escola de Nova Tecnologia dos Açores.

This €1,250 awardrecognizes not only the student’s academic performance, but also their potential to build a solid career in a critical and fast-growing field: cybersecurity. The award ceremony was attended by Alex Shan, CEO of Jolera, and Hugo Pinho, Senior Manager at the company, highlighting the strategic importance of this partnership.

Local education, real opportunities

Jolera maintains an active partnership with ENTA, as well as other educational institutions in the region, supporting technical education and creating internship and professional integration opportunities for local students. The goal is to ensure that Azorean talent has access to future-focused career opportunities without having to leave the archipelago.

In a sector where the shortage of qualified professionals is a global reality, investing in local education is not just a matter of social responsibility, but a strategic decision. Jolera believes that talent exists in the Azores and that, with the right conditions, it can grow, specialize, and compete internationally from the region.

A long-term investment vision

This recognition is part of a broader investment by Jolera in the Azores, which includes the opening of a new office, the creation of qualified jobs, and the strengthening of areas such as Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. More than a physical presence, this is about building a sustainable ecosystem that values people, knowledge, and continuity.

By recognizing Diogo Pacheco’s journey, Jolera sends a clear message to students in the region: it is possible to build a successful career with global impact from the Azores.
