On January 6, Jolera officially inaugurated its new office in São Miguel, marking another significant milestone in the company’s journey in the Azores. This moment symbolizes growth, confidence in the region, and a clear ambition: to make the Azores an increasingly relevant hub in the technology ecosystem.
Present in the region since 2022, Jolera now takes another step forward with larger facilities designed to meet the current needs of its team while creating room for continued growth.
At the heart of the innovation ecosystem
Jolera’s new office is integrated into the NONAGON operations center, one of the main innovation hubs in the Azores. This location strengthens the company’s connection to the regional ecosystem, fostering closer collaboration with partners, institutions, and other technology- and knowledge-driven initiatives.
The opening brought together strategic partners, institutional representatives, and prominent regional figures — including Artur Lima, Vice-President of the Government of the Azores — highlighting Jolera’s strong ties to the Azores and recognizing its contribution to local technological development.
Institutional Recognition and Vision for the Future
In his remarks, Artur Lima emphasized that “the inauguration of these new facilities is proof that the Regional Government’s strategy of attracting investment and supporting the digital economy is yielding solid results.”
The Vice-President also highlighted that Jolera’s presence and expansion in the Azores demonstrate that it is possible, from an autonomous region in the middle of the Atlantic, to “manage critical infrastructure and ensure cybersecurity for companies in Toronto, New York, or London.”
Artur Lima underscored Jolera’s role in combating brain drain and strengthening NONAGON as a space where knowledge turns into economic value.
More space, more people, greater ambition
These new facilities address a clear need to create better conditions for Jolera’s regional teams to work together, collaborate, and innovate. At the same time, they enable the company to recruit more local talent, supporting its sustained growth.
Jolera expects to reach 100 employees in the near future, strengthening technical, consulting, and support teams, always with a strong focus on quality and specialization.
Starting the year with the opening of a new office is more than symbolic, it is a clear sign that Jolera enters this new phase with energy, vision, and the drive to do more.
Training, internships, and market integration
Investment in Azorean talent remains a top priority. Jolera maintains partnerships with ENTA, the Azores Qualification Center (CQA), and the University of the Azores, providing training during internships and integrating 100% of interns into its teams.
This model creates a direct bridge between education and employment, ensuring that acquired knowledge is applied in real-world contexts and that professionals begin their careers with strong foundations.
With this new space, Jolera strengthens its position as a leading IT company in the Azores, creating the right conditions to support organizations in their digital transformation, develop local talent, and continue building globally impactful solutions from the region.
The year begins with a clear signal: Jolera is in the Azores to stay and to grow!
